Songs of Place is a musical adventure that brings to life the distinct sounds of diverse locales, capturing the unique spirit, folklore, and history of the places that define us. This stunning program presents wind band gems like Suite Française (Milhaud) and Paprikash (Giroux); new takes on old classics with Shenandoah (Thomas); and the world premiere performance of Kairosaēris by local composer Jacob Tran, the recipient of the 2025 David Erdmann Scholarship.

From vivid landscapes to fresh voices from Edmonton’s own creative community, Songs of Place invites you to travel without leaving your seat. Rich colours, memorable melodies, and compelling stories unfold across the program, offering audiences of all ages an afternoon of discovery, connection, and exceptional live music.
